Solid Business Practices (Not Luck) Drive Success

By Mark Roe, National Director

Luck. It comes in handy when flipping a coin, entering a raffle, or getting home just in time to avoid a sudden thunderstorm. And although we all love celebrating the luck of the Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, we can’t count on it to bring professional success. Instead, this time of year is when many of us prefer to look ahead to the first days of spring.  The season brings a natural inclination to do some “housekeeping”: streamline processes, declutter outdated practices, and find new opportunities to decrease expenses and increase revenue.

When looking at what traits successful businesses have in common, we can see that not much has changed in the past 10 years: streamlined business processes still rank high and have been equated with creating predictability. The benefits can be felt across an entire company:

  • Increased productivity
  • Reduced cost
  • Faster response to market changes
  • More time to pursue new revenue opportunities
  • Better service and experience for account holders
  • Less turnover
  • Higher employee satisfaction

It’s a tall order to find both the time and the objectivity internally to take on a company-wide spring cleaning like this.  But, you don’t have to — JMFA has a proven track-record in Performance Enhancement Consulting. In my years of experience working with a variety of banks and credit unions, we’ve developed a step-by-step approach to analyze everything from workflow and processes to product offerings and expenditures.

Unlike most consulting companies, though, we don’t just leave you with a stack of recommendations. We stick with your company to implement as many of our proposals as you’d like. That way, you can keep up with your day-to-day duties while we work alongside employees to train, observe, and course correct in real time as needed. Check out how we helped one of our clients implement approximately 75% of our 300-400 recommendations. The results included more efficient service, less wait time, increased revenue, and a restructured loan department, leading our client to declare, “It was absolutely worth it!”

Shamrocks and double rainbows are lovely, don’t get me wrong — but they won’t lead to that pot of gold. Instead, take a proactive, systematic approach and contact us today. We’ll help navigate your company to greater success — not with luck, but with good, old-fashioned diligence.
